Anticipate an exciting Africa family adventure with a short summary of what you can expect each day on safari.
Day 1 - Nairobi
Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be welcomed by a member of the Umbato Safaris team and driven to your hotel. You will spend one night at the Holiday Inn or similar. Your stay is on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2 - Mount Kenya
In the morning, head to Mount Kenya's slopes to Serena Mountain Lodge, for matchless game viewing opportunity whilst combining a glorious panorama of mountain vistas with the primordial splendours of an ancient rainforest. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3 - Aberdares National Park
Depart from mount kenya drive to Nyeri via local villages with arrival to the Aberdares around noon. After lunch you go on some game drives in the rich Aberdares mountain forest before return to your lodge. Accomodation will be at the unique The Ark, a tree-top style stilted lodge is set in thick woodland in the heart of the Aberdare National Park overlooking a floodlit waterhole and a saltlick which attracts a host of wildlife. Elephants, rhinos and bushbucks are frequently seen. Numerous balconies and lounges provide superb game viewing and excellent photographic opportunities. Overnight at The Ark . All meals included
Day 4 - Lake Nakuru
After breakfast we are driving through the forested hills of the Aberdares, via Thompson's falls on the Ewaso Narok River . It falls 72 m, the mist feeding the dense forest below. You can check out the falls from above, before descending 1000m onto the floor of the Great Rift Valley, to the Lake Nakuru National park. After a lunch at Nakuru we proceed for an afternoon game drive in the park, a shallow soda lake, which inhabits more than a million flamingoes. The Lake Nakuru National Park also has a Rhino sanctuary, and other animals to be seen here are lion, buffalo, waterbuck, hippo and warthog. Dinner and overnight at or. All meals included.
Day 5 - Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast you will depart from Nairobi for the Maasai Mara National Reserve. You will have your overnight at Keekorok Lodge where you will be staying on a full board basis. Lunch is served on your arrival, followed by an afternoon game drive through the reserve. Return for dinner at the lodge and relax in comfort.
Day 6 - Masai Mara National Reserve
You will be woken up early for a morning game drive in the Masai Mara and then an afternoon game drive will follow. At certain times of the year the park is the scene of the Wildebeest Migration - and timing your safari accordingly might mean that you are witness to this great wildlife spectacle.
Day 7 - Nairobi
Depart masai mara and drive through the reserve to Nairobi arrive in the early evening. Visit the Carnivore restaurant for dinner. Overnight at the Stanley Hotel or similar.
Day 8 - Amboseli National Park
Spend the day travelling towards Amboseli stopping off for lunch and game viewing on the way. You will stay overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge on a full board basis. Amboseli is famous for its unforgettable views of Kilimanjaro, and a relaxed abundant population of elephants.
Day 9 - Amboseli National Park
Enjoy breakfast and spend the day viewing game while Mount Kilimanjaro lies in the background.
Day 10 - Departure
Departure in the morning for Nairobi for your onward travel arrangements.
